“Clementine” explores the construction of the female figure through color, shape, and fragmentation. Built from layered forms and bold, graphic elements, the portrait shifts between abstraction and representation—inviting the viewer to consider how identity is assembled, simplified, and reimagined.
The exaggerated palette and stylized features create a sense of play while maintaining an underlying tension between surface and structure. As with much of my work, the figure becomes both image and object—something to be looked at, but also something that resists a fixed reading.
“Clementine” functions as both a statement piece and a quieter study of perception—how we recognize a face, and how easily that recognition can be disrupted.
