A figure caught in the present—formed and reshaped in real time.
As We Speak captures a moment that feels immediate and unresolved, where the figure exists in the process of becoming rather than completion. The image resists stillness—shifting through layered marks, interruptions, and partial forms that suggest ongoing change.
Fragments of the body emerge and dissolve across the surface, creating a tension between visibility and instability. The figure is not fixed, but actively shaped—by gesture, by perception, and by the act of being observed.
The work reflects on the pressure of presence: how identity is constructed in real time, within moments that are both fleeting and defining. What is seen “as we speak” is never fully settled, but continually adjusted, reframed, and renegotiated.
As part of an ongoing exploration of femininity and representation, As We Speak considers how the female image is formed within this immediacy—caught between expression and expectation.
