This porcelain milk jug is finished in a Koi Pond glaze, where blue and green tones pool and disperse across the surface. The pattern emerges through movement and chance, evoking the shifting reflections of water while resisting a fixed or repeatable image.
The form is compact and functional, yet subtly sculptural. Its weight and geometry anchor the fluidity of the glaze, creating a tension between structure and surface. As with much of my work, the piece exists between utility and object—something to be used, but also considered.
Each jug is one of a kind. Variations in the glaze are inherent to the process and part of the work’s character.
