Show Pony

$1,050.00

Show Pony explores femininity as spectacle, performance, and constructed identity. Layered through collage, acrylic, and resin, the piece draws from fashion imagery, advertising language, and fragmented representations of the female body to examine how women are simultaneously idealized, consumed, and observed.

The repeated polka dot pattern acts both as surface embellishment and visual interruption, partially obscuring the figures while reinforcing the tension between visibility and performance. Bright color and glamour initially invite the viewer in, while the fragmented composition complicates the image beneath.

Like much of my work, Show Pony exists between attraction and critique, questioning the ways femininity becomes stylized, performed, and commodified within contemporary visual culture.
