Pear & Deep Sea Ceramic Milk Jug Vase — 26.123
A little sunshine with a dramatic streak.
This one-of-a-kind porcelain milk jug combines the fresh, lively color of Pear glaze with the deep blue-green richness of Deep Sea, creating a striking contrast between light and dark.
Bright yellow-green envelops the body of the vessel, while dark, glossy blue-green glaze gathers around the neck and shoulders before flowing downward in irregular, organic drips. The interaction between the two glazes creates beautiful variations in color and movement, giving this little jug a bold personality that changes with every viewing angle.
The saturated Deep Sea glaze provides a dramatic counterpoint to the cheerful Pear surface. Where the colors meet, subtle shifts in tone and texture emerge, highlighting the unpredictable beauty of the ceramic firing process.
Inspired by the familiar shape of a vintage milk jug, this contemporary ceramic piece transforms a traditional utilitarian form into a miniature sculptural artwork. Its angular shoulders, compact body, narrow neck, and small handle maintain the nostalgic charm of everyday objects while its expressive glaze treatment introduces a playful, modern sensibility.
Each milk jug is individually handmade and glazed by artist Alissa Van Atta in her North Carolina studio. The firing process produces unique variations in glaze flow, color, and surface finish, ensuring that no two vessels are exactly alike.
Whether displayed as a standalone ceramic sculpture, added to a collection of handmade pottery, or styled with dried botanical stems, this little jug brings an unexpected pop of color and character to a shelf, mantel, or tabletop.
Bright, bold, and beautifully individual.
