Part of my ongoing Type Series, this one-of-a-kind handbuilt porcelain milk carton transforms a familiar disposable object into a contemporary ceramic sculpture. Impressed fragments of typography drift across the surface, encouraging viewers to slow down and search for connections while emphasizing rhythm, spacing, and texture over complete narratives.
The gently compressed form introduces a subtle sense of movement, contrasting with the clean geometry of the original carton while preserving its recognizable silhouette. Finished in a glossy white glaze, the piece highlights the softness of handbuilt porcelain and the tactile quality of the impressed lettering.
Suitable as a sculptural object or as a vessel for dried botanicals or fresh stems with a watertight liner.
