Iron Lustre + Light Flux Porcelain Milk Carton Vase | MC26.8

$165.00

MC26.8 transforms the familiar shape of a milk carton into a small sculptural vessel with a dramatically layered ceramic surface.

The lower portion is finished in rich Iron Lustre, creating deep charcoal, espresso brown, and subtle metallic tones. Light Flux moves across the upper portion of the form in creamy, irregular drips, breaking and pooling over the darker glaze below. The result feels almost geological—part mineral surface, part weathered object—with the glaze behaving differently across every fold and plane of the carton.

The crisp geometry of the milk carton gives the flowing glaze a structure to work against. From the folded top to the angular sides, each view reveals a slightly different combination of dark glaze, warm metallic variation, and pale cascading movement.

Functional as a vase for fresh or dried flowers, it is equally strong displayed empty as a contemporary ceramic object.

Each milk carton is slip-cast in porcelain and individually glazed, finished, and fired by hand in my North Carolina studio. Variations in glaze movement and surface are part of the process and make every piece one of a kind.
