This handmade porcelain milk carton transforms an ordinary disposable object into a small sculptural vessel. Bold black barcode lines wrap across the white porcelain surface, interrupted by hand-drawn numbers that emphasize the contrast between mass production and something made individually by hand.
The familiar carton form becomes slightly strange when translated into porcelain—recognizable, functional, and sculptural at the same time. Display it with a few stems or let it stand alone as a contemporary ceramic object.
Each carton is individually cast, altered, glazed, and fired in my North Carolina studio, making every piece completely one of a kind.
