Little Dude, 2025

Ceramic and Wool

6.5 x 10.5 x 11 in.

I had wanted to make Little Dude for awhile. It wasn’t enough to paint him (in “Falling Away from Me”) - I needed a more tactile experience. Korn’s Issue’s album has been my unofficial music theme for my college years- years of learning, discovering, messing up…. it embodies that time for me. The image of the simple doll, beat up, stuffing coming out presents so many narratives for so many. For me, it was the time and space I still felt like a kid, was supposed to act like an adult- but kept messing up, was so unsure about virtually everything in my life.

A ceramic sculpture resembling a cluster of yellowish-beige stones with black specks, arranged to look like a flower or abstract form, with a glossy glaze finish.
